Trip to Sneem 2016

Currow Cycling Club will be going to Sneem for an over night trip on April 2nd 2016.

The trip will cost Club members €35  staying in the Sneem Hotel Saturday 2nd April

This includes bed and breakfast and evening meal on Saturday the 2nd on arrival,

The deadline for the trip is the 12/02/2016. The €35 is to be paid up by this date if you intend travelling

with the club. This can be given in to Marcus Cronin, Contact no. 087 6361706

Trip Details

Leaving Currow at 11:00 am Saturday morning. There will be two groups cycling to Sneem,

There will be 50 mile group and the 70 mile Group, Everyone will leave together and Cycle to Killorglin.

At this point it will split in to two groups.

 

On Sunday morning we will be leaving Sneem at 12:00am  travelling directly over molls gap and finishing in

Killarney, Everyone will be taking different directions at this point. This will be the official finish to the Trip.

Currow Cycling Club are again proud to be Promoting the Drumm cup in 2016.

The event is being held on the 24th April 2016 with sign on taking place at Currow community centre.

Times will be posted at a later date,

The Currow Cycling club Leisure tour will take place on 12th June 2016

The very important bit for this Post. Is that there is a Cycling Club meeting on the 29/01/2016 at the Hall at 8.00pm

The Cycling club is organising a weekend away at the start of April. Where the Club will cycle to the proposed destination on Saturday. Stay over night and return on Sunday.  This event is open to all Club members and it would important that as many club members attend the meeting on the 29th to finalise details.

Membership renewal and new club members

It’s that time of the year again, where club membership is the issue of the day,

Upcoming Events

Two events next weekend for the club on and off of the road. On Friday 4th September there will be a mass to remember the fiftieth anniversary of the death of John Drumm. This mass will be in Cordal church at 7.30pm with refreshments in Hughes Bar afterwards. On Sunday 6th September the annual club’s leisure tour in aid of the Day Care centre will take place starting at 10am sharp. Registration is from 9am at the Day Care Centre and there are routes from 15k to 80k available to accommodate all levels of cyclist.

Sign On: Next to Gneeveguilla PO from 10:00am 6.8k circuit same as used for County League

U16 Starts at 11:00 – 4 laps, U14 Starts @ 11:05 – 3 laps

U12 Starts @ 11:10 – 2 laps Seniors Starts @ 11:45 – 9 laps

Medals for category’s are as follows: 1st 2nd 3rd for Overall, A1, A2, A3, A4, Ladies, juniors, Over 40’s, Over 50’s, U16’s, U14’s & U12’s.

Team prize is for 1st only, counting first 3 riders, riders don’t have to be declared beforehand.

Prize giving for championships and county league and refreshments to follow senior race in Gneeveguilla Gaa Club Bar

Full Competition License Required, no one day licenses available, Rider from Kerry or riding on a Kerry team is eligible. €10 for adults, €5 for underage

Well done to everyone who helped in making a great nights racing in Currow tonight. The League prizes will be given out after the County Championships which are being hosted by Sliabh Luachra CC. There are prizes for all regular underage participants and the top 8 seniors. Again thanks to all riders, drivers, stewards and results crew tonight on what was a fitting finale for a great series.
