Club History

Currow Cycling Club was established in 1995 when a number of enthusiasts who were already cycling locally decided to get together and form a club.

The club was formed with the aim of promoting cycling as a healthy and social passtime in the parish. Since 1995 the parish has grown from strength to strength with one of the highlights in particular being the host for a stage end of the FDB Milk Rás in 2001.

There have been many competitive cyclists who have reced with the club since it began but the club exists primarily as a leisure cycling and touring club. Over the years the club have enjoyed many cycling weekend trips to Dingle, Kenmare and Valentia to name but a few.

The club has become synonymous with the two events that it hosts anually, which are the annual leisure tour and the John Drumm Cup Race, both events take place in June and both attract cyclists from all over Ireland.
