JAN 4TH CLUB MEETING

The first club meeting of the year was held on Monday 4th Jan in the Currow hall. It was well attended. The points raised and decisions were as follows;

Club membership for 2010 will be 25 euro. This includes the Cycling Ireland licence and general club membership. The reduction from Cycling Ireland is being passed onto club members. Paudie McCarthy is now collecting the membership and has set a deadline for all existing members to have their forms completed and money paid by Feb 1st (club meeting). Forms can be downloaded from the following link http://www.cyclingireland.ie/Key-Documents/New-Club-and-Members-Forms.aspx or from Paudie. New members will be welcomed at any time but we want to get as many licences applied for as possible in early Feb. Please send the completed forms along with a cheque of 25 euro payable to the Currow cycling club to Paudie McCarthy, Gorteenroe, Firies, Co Kerry 087-4185865 . Can any monies owed from last year also be paid.

Church gate collections to be sorted out by Pa Breen, Marcus Cronin + David Costello. Further details to follow at the next meeting.

The issue of changing the club gear and stocking it locally was discussed. It is hoped to have this in place with an Irish supplier in a local shop later on this year with the official jersey changing at the start of 2011. Gareth Lawless and Tom Kenny to have sample drawings and an update at the next meeting.

The meeting agreed to organise some coaching/advise sessions. John Breen to contact a member of the Kerry Ras team about giving a talk about best practise on recovery with a view to Malin to Mizen but this would be relevant to all cyclists. This will hopefully happen at the next meeting. Gareth Lawless to contact Cycling Ireland with reference to a coaching session possibly on a Saturday and this would involve a cycle spin.

An open evening was again discussed for later in the year to attract more members into the club.

A disclaimer and club constitution also to be worked on with Paul O’Donoghue (solicitor)

Very importantly a contact section is needed on the website so we need all telephone numbers and possibly email addresses for this section
Next Meeting Feb 1st 9pm Currow Hall

One Response to JAN 4TH CLUB MEETING

  1. The Chain Gang are also trying to sort out a coaching course with Cycling Ireland, but have nothing definite as yet. Maybe we could combine forces on this? If in contact with Cycling Ireland could you cross reference us, and we will do the same from our end?
