Donal Crowley Memorial Sportive Postponed again

The sportive scheduled for this Sunday has been rescheduled again until Sunday 7th of February due to uncertiain road and weather conditions.

Me and Steve headed out on St. Stephen’s Day with our mountain bikes. We headed for Breahig and found the roads unpassable.

Steve fell off not far from where the picture was taken above near Breahig, his back wheel giving way to the ice.

We didn’t know whether to laugh or cry but decided to head back towards Currow. Some very wise person decided to head up the Metal Bridge and back to Currow by the top road where I fell off, this time with my front wheel sliding and bring me down to the ground spread out like a starfish. Next time a warning from the good people at Met Eireann will be adhered to!

Killorglin CC – Xmas Leisure Cycle/ Race

Description: Killorglin CC are holding a Xmas Leisure Cycle / Race on Sunday 13th Dec.

The route is Killorglin – Killarney –
Tralee – Killorglin with the pace controlled until Tralee and then it’s a
race to the finish. There is no obligation to race but 1st over the line
will win a hamper and there will be a raffle of spot prizes for all
participants afterwards. Sign on is at 9.30am in the Killorglin Rowing

Entry is €10 for Cycling Ireland Members and €20 Euro for non

Tralee BC Time Trial on Saturday

Time trial on Saturday 5th December at 10:00 am hosted by the Tralee Bicycle Club. The course is Five miles out the Tralee/Castleisland road and is flat. Sign on and start will be under the Railway Bridge 400 meter’s from The Earl of Desmond Hotel. The sign on wil be open from 10.00 and the time trial will start at 10.30. Riders will be starting @ one minute intervals. There will be no entry fee for this event. This time trial is an open event to anyone who would like to compete.

Donal Crowley Memorial – 3rd Jan 2010

A Sportive event has bee announced in Blarney on Sunday 3rd January 2010. It is the Donal Crowley Memorial cycle and offers 72KM of nice countryside, with a relatively flat route. Anyone considering the M2M spin in 2010 shuold target this event as their first event of the year.
