Moynihan Storms to victory in Sliabh Luachra TT

Cathal Moynihan (Tralee Manor BC) was the strongest and fastest on the night in the annual Sliabh Luachra TT promoted by Cuirrow CC in Castleisland tonight. He won by a narrow 8 seconds to the newly crowned Munster TT champion Simon Ryan (DMG Visit Nenagh) with his team mate Denis Dunworth filling the podium only 12 seconds back.

A large crowd turned out in a high caliber field for the 20km event which saw Eddie Dunbar (O Leary Stone Kanturk) win the Junior prize and team mate Dean Bradley Young taking the under 16 award.

William Whelan Kilmallock CC led the A3 category home with Blarneys Stephen McCarthy winning the A4 prize.

Best of the Vets was Andre Engeman, St Tiernans with Tom Barrett, Sean Barrett and last but not least Suzanne O Sullivan winning their three respective catagories for the promoting Currow Cycling Club of Over 50, Under 12 and Ladies.

Overall it was a very popular event with no talk of any EGM but only the race of truth in an event that set out with 10km into a headwind first followed by a fast test of speed to the finish line.
