Club Members Update

The next few weeks are very busy in terms of cycling for the club members of all standards. In general can members keep an eye on http://www.irishcycling.com and http://www.cyclingireland.ie for all fixtures and information.

The Cycling Pursuits Time Trial (18km) League commences this Thursday (22nd) in Patrickswell. This runs for a number of weeks and caters for all levels of cyclists even the ones that are not competing for prizes but just trying to better their own times. Further details on the Cycling Pursuits (Limerick) and Limerick Cycling Club Websites.

There are 2 Leisure Tours in Munster this weekend, 100k in Waterford Saturday (Comeragh CC) and 120k in Killmallock Sunday (Kilmallock CC). Check their websites if interested.

The weekends race is in Fermoy with the Silver Pail Grand Prix taking place. Details from Michael O’Connor on 087 4107097.

Dingle peninsula cycle on Sat May 1st starting at 8am from Marina car park. 110k going from Dingle to Camp, back to Dingle via Conor pass and then around Slea head. E30 registration. http://www.dinglecyclingclub.com/dinglecyclingclub/Home.html

Club spins will continue on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7pm from McElligotts on the Tralee Road as well as 9am form Currow Post Office Saturdays and Sundays. Bear in mind the Malin to Mizen participants will be leaving for the North on Wednesday so the spins will probably ease off before that.

All the arrangements are in place for M2M at this stage up to the finish at Mizen Head. Can the 12 participants please load their bikes and luggage into the van at Eamonn Colliers house (4 Lake View, Currow) between 8 and 9pm on Tuesday Evening. Please ensure that ou are there by 9 as it is unfair to expect Eamonnng around any longer. The Bus will leave Currow at 6am sharp on the Wednesday. Can you contact Pa Breen (087 9201961) if you need further info about the bus or if you want to meet it along the road.

The West Lodge Hotel (Bantry) is provisionally booked for the cyclists and any friends joining us on the Monday evening after the finish. It is 35 euro per person for a 4 course meal and use of the leisure facilities. We have the option of a bus home after that (the cost to be split between whoever travels on it) or the West Lodge are offering Bed and Breakfast for 50 euro per person sharing.

We are hoping as many as possible will join the 12 participants on the last day or 2 but can you please let John Breen (087 7849879) know your plans if you want to have the dinner and use of the leisure club.

So overall best of luck to all participants in all the above events especially the Malin to Mizen Marathon and please God all will return safely and eager for more cycling!!

Finally, http://www.cyclesure.ie were in touch about bike insurance if you want it. This might be especially relevant for the M2M crew as remember you are responsible for the safety of your own bike during this event including the storage of it.
