Jimmy Duffy RIP

I thought it was only fitting to post some photos of the Legendary Jimmy Duffy, taken just before the start of the 2003 and 2008 Ring of Kerry Cycle.
He did not feel the morning cold as witnessed by his bare chest and While he did not boast the fancy accoutrements of those around him, many of them were, I’m sure, to be surprised later in the day, as Jimmy picked them off at his all-day mile gobbling cruising speed and he would cycle home to Blennerville after the 110 miles of the ring,
After completing one of the Currow cc leisure cycles a few years back and when he was finished eating his fill after he announced that he still had some miles to go as not only had he to cycle back home to Blennerville but first he had to cycle in the direction of Killarney to get duck eggs. A character and example of determination of old, the likes of which I don’t know can be seen again. May he rest in peace.
